Museum

Historical items from Wyoming County and surrounding areas are on display in our museum. Contact us to schedule a tour and to wander along the timeline of our county's history.

The Military Room honors the veterans who served and memorializes those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Donated and loaned items include many photos, uniforms, artifacts, and equipment carried by those who served dating back to Sullivan's March, the American Revolution, the US Civil War, and both World Wars. WNEP's Mike Stevens visited and filmed "On the Pennsylvania Road: Reflections on War" there. Since that video was made, even more items have been added to the collection.

The School Room allows visitors to see what it was like to attend and teach in a one-room schoolhouse, to view antique photos and vintage tools from local schools, and to see antique toys.

The Clothing collection includes outfits and accessories from many eras: hats, shoes, gowns, suits, and a beautiful Victorian wedding gown.

The Music corner includes instruments, uniforms, and sheet music used by local bands.

The "Men's Room" includes an old-fashioned barbershop, items from Benny's Shoe Shop, vintage and antique cameras, old bottles from local collections, sports equipment, law enforcement gear, and political ads.

The Tools collection is a fascinating group of antique and vintage hand tools and early machinery.

And much more:

  • Native American artifacts
  • Household tools and furniture
  • Tunkhannock Tannery history
  • Transportation items from local canal, railroad, and bridge industries
  • Medical equipment used by local physicians and dentists
